yes, you can re-create it...@rogers.blackberry.net account works the same as old BIS, although you can not access the email through a browser on your desktop, only on your blackberry.

new 2.0 BIS software sends you new icons for each email address too. unless thats the software update.. I did mine both that the same time.

Well worth it. I use the desktop to print off emails but I can always forward the email to my company or personal email address and print from there. I work in Real Estate and being able to snap a pic and email it right away with my 8100 would be a HUGE help. If the new BIS gives me that then I will upgrade. I am surprised that feature is not available with the old BIS. Thx for your help.

I did the upgrade to the new BIS and success at last!! I can now take a picture and have the option to email it!! This is perfect because I no longer have to send it as an MMS which will cost me $0.50/each.

This only works for people on BES/BIS, right? How about for those who are only on the Rogers web-based account, will the picture attachment via email work? I have tried this (I do not have BES, this BB8100 is a personal phone) and it only gives me MMS as option to send pictures.

If you have BIS it will work. You'll need BIS 2.0 if you're on 1.8 you'll need to upgrade to 2.0 by contacting Rogers Data Dept. After then resend your service books and after you take a picture you'll have an option to send via MMS, send to BlackBerry Messenger Contact or send via email.

I called up Rogers Tech Support and got it done. Now I can send pictures as email attachments. This 8100 is great!

There are launch parties starting Oct.3 and channels will begin to fill shortly thereafter. There are some stores that serve corporate clientelle that will have them as of Oct.2 (like the Rogers Dealer that serves our company at all our offices across the country. I already have an unlocked one but everyone at our company who wants the 8100 can get one on Monday October 2nd)

After speaking with both of my Rogers reps on Friday I was told that depending on what store be it on the retail channel or dealer channel some stores will have the 8100 sooner than others. This is based on the stores classification (A store, B store, etc... all based on their numbers) the busiest stores will get theirs first.

My company deals with a Private dealer who always gets stock first. Our Rogers reps also told me that Dealer stores would most likely get them first and then on the retail channel side you'll see stores such as Wireless Wave, Telephone Booth, Cellcom, etc... get them next. I asked about a time frame and they had mentioned that usually within a week or so but sometimes they all get stock in around the same time as the stores on the retail end. They said the retail store to most likely last get the 8100 would be the Rogers Plus chain of stores as they never get stock in as quick as others. So if you're in Canada I'd check the Multi Carriers (Telephone Booth/Wireless Wave) and other Rogers stores first (Such as Cellcom, LifeStyle Wireless, & Digital Communications, etc...)

Having said all of the above keep in mind that this is just what was told to me by the Rogers reps that serve us. My company has been fortunate to always get new BlackBerries quicker than the launch date but I am the eager beaver out of the bunch and always need to get it sooner.

Contact Rogers Data Suport by calling 1-866-931-3282 and they can upgrade your BIS service for you. It takes just a few minutes to do.

Default do you have to unlock?

I'm also trying to send pictures as attachments via email. I see no menu option when I compose an email for attaching files. Also, I only send as mms option when I take the pictures. Do I have to unlock the phone for this to work? Do I also have to call to upgrade my BIS? I'm using the 8100 on Rogers. Thanks
