I set up my email account, but when I send an email to somebody, I receive the email as if i sent it to myself too. So for example lets say my email is [email address] and i send an email to [email address], that is what shows in my inbox.

Any solutions?

Welcome to the forums. You need to set up a filter to stop that.

When I set up my phone, the rep set it up for gmail. I never set up a BIS.

Is there another solution?

No there is no other solution.

You have BIS. Your rep might have been the one to set it up for you, but you have it, and you can use it.
Without it, you wouldn't be getting email on your device.

Go into the Personal Email Setup on your device and choose the 'Create Username' option.
Once that's done, you can log into BIS on the web here:

You won't be able to create a new username as your device pin already has a profile (Possibly w/o a username or there is one, but they just forgot to give you the username).

You will have to contact your provider and ask for the BB web client username or have them create one (attach a username to your profile).

Once that's done, you can log into your BB web client and create a filter to prevent gmail e-mails from being delivered to handset when they're "From" your own Gmail address.

This is incorrect. There is no need to contact the carrier, and there should be no problem setting up a BIS username after the device is already set up.

When you initially set up BIS on the device, you do not specify any username for your BIS account.
This needs to be done manually, which is why there is a 'Create User Name' option in the email setup on the device.

This is only the case pre BIS 2.4.. After BIS 2.4 you can click on email settings on the device and it will not prompt you for a username and password. You can setup an e-mail w/o any problems (directly from your device).

If you want to create filters and manage your BB webclient via a computer (anywhere but your own BB device) you will have to call into have a BB Web Client username attached to the profile.

It might be a Telus only issue. On my Rogers 8800, it appears to the be case as you mention Penguin. On the Telus 8703e, it's not the same (basically like my scenario).
