Sorry if it seems a bit lame, even though I'm only 22...but why can't people just drive the speed limit and not run red lights? It really isn't that hard, I do it everyday.

Because as long as they get where they need to be, the safety of others means nothing.

Same here... Verizon Storm 9530... running 4.7.0.90... GPS settings are:

Data Source: Device GPS
GPS: Location On
Location Aiding: On

I've run VZ Navigator and BB Maps and been able to locate just fine, but Trapster keeps saying "searching for location." I checked the GPS settings in Trapster, too, and all should be working. And just so someone doesn't say it, same thing happens outside with clear skies (though Navigator will pick me up inside or with overcast weather). Any ideas?

Brian

P.S. I've also rebooted my phone more than one since installing it to no avail.

I haven't worked the gps issue out though it's occured twice now.

I leave my gps on e911 only unless specifically using it.
In the past I've never had an issue with either Signalloc or BBMaps accessing the gps info after turning on location.

What I've noticed on two occasions is that if I turn the gps on to location showing the appropriate addition to the gps icon and then open Tracklock the gps info isn't available to any of the programs thereafter; Trapster, Signalloc or BBMaps.

It's occured twice requiring battery pulls and the last time yesterday, it wasn't till the 3rd battery pull that the gps info became available and I did battery pulls with location on and e911 only, the last battery pull I did was with location on and then opened Signalloc which showed location info within 10 seconds, then BBMaps worked as did Trapster.

I turned gps to e911 again, today I turned on gps, verified it worked with Signalloc, worked with BBMaps and then Trapster, so a few hours later I tried that cycle again and everything worked.

I'm inclined to believed somethings up with Trapster and it may be related to the disable gps selection available in Trapster, but I'd already wasted 20 minutes fooling with it yesterday and had other things to do.

I also wonder why Trapster won't use the cellular location instead of gps on the Storm as it does on my friends iphone.

P.S. Location aiding is unnecessary for any of the above programs.

I just finished taking Trapster off my Storm. I did so because it is not stable. Since I installed it, it has locked the phone up three times within 24 hours of installation, all requiring battery pulls. As I have had a very stable installation prior to installing this, I will not compromise the integrity of my phone for a marginal application.

Marginal? Well when I test drove it down a few streets and highways in my area, where I know the locations of the various speed traps, cameras, etc., what I found was that the alert circle was nowhere near large enough and I was on top of the threat areas by the time I got an alert.

I also found that because the listings are not moderated in any way, there were numerous listing for red light cameras where there were no traffic lights for hundreds of yards and such. This is unacceptable. If you cannot count on the qaccuracy of the application, what good is it. I'll go back to drivng slowly. Sorry to disappoint. 73

How curious, it's run problem free on mine for a bit of time now, perhaps you should look into other issues for your seizures.

If you weren't driving over 100mph everywhere you'd have plenty of time, which brings us to the second issue, you didn't even look at the Alert Settings, did you?

Can you comprehend that it's a community created and moderated database, hence the reason for the little thumbs up/down icons when you select the trap on the screen.

It's a free community based application, like this forum, it's my impression you couldn't be bothered with reading and learning about it before you trashed it both on your machine and here in public.

As a follow up with regards to the gps.
I've cycled the location on/off a handful of times over the last few days and except for one instance where it took about five minutes before Signalloc picked up the data, all the programs, BBMaps, Signalloc and Trapster have consistently been able to read the gps data.
So, I don't know what was or is up.

I had no issues with distance re warnings, my issue with what in the face of it should be a grea app was that I had huge gaps between sections of map.

Just thought I'd say that when I installed the updated version of Trapster (3.0, I believe) after loading OS .90, I haven't had any problems...

I'm also new to Blackberry and I have a Storm. I downloaded the app but I'm not quite sure how to use it. Do I run the program when I'm driving or is it on constantly? If it's on constantly isn't that a battery hog?

Like I said I'm new.....

When I had this app, the screen would light up constantly and almost never shut off, probably to update. Anyone else getting this?

I saw that today, but just one time. I was wondering what the heck was going on.
