Two day old phone, brand new, out of the box. Connected it yesterday to the computer and it said i had updates available. Ran the updates and at reboot got a 507 error and the phone wouldn't get passed that screen. Redid everything and worked fine until today when i did a reboot and now i keep getting a 606 Error ...what is going on ?

Now when i try to hook it up to the computer and do a restore it won't even see my phone as connected.

Please help this phone is frustrating !

Wipe your BB with JL_Cmder and try reinstalling again.

You are going to need to reinstall the OS again. I'm not sure why the OS install has gotten botched (twice now), but that seems to be what happened.

If you've been using a USB hub, or USB outlet on a keyboard or monitor, or something like that, use a USB outlet directly on the computer. Make sure the computer is set to not shut off power to save on electricity use. That's the best I know. See what others say on what may be messing up the install.

By the way, were you having any trouble with the BlackBerry before this?

No, did not use a hub. It was directly hooked up to my mac which was plugged in during the update, never shut down or entered sleep mode.

yes your apps will be lost.

But hopefully this should be the end of your problems.

That's why I asked if you were having any other problems before this, before you did the upgrade the first time. Maybe it is you, maybe it is something with your computer, or maybe it is the BlackBerry. If you can rule out two of these possibilities, then the answer will lie with the third.

Hopefully this third time is the charm and you'll have no more trouble.

I got it yesterday, brand new from ATT. Came home with it and hooked it up the my mac in order to see if there are any updates for it. Ran the check, came up i had updates available. Ran the updates and while it was updating i kept on getting the 507 error, did not touch it, let it do it's thing. Finally after it restarted by itself a couple of times the update was complete. Unplugged it from the computer and started using it normally, worked like a charm. So, today, after desperately trying to get the stupid YM "Invalid ID or password" issued fixed (someone told me i had to remove YM and then do a battery pull) ...so i did that and from there on it did not want to restart...

606 I dunno if ther eis documentation for that yet but that most of the time is good to reload the OS
if it is the 601 or 602 error just do a battery pull and your good to go

606 comes up on a search of various BlackBerry forums..... all the advice I saw, including from people familiar with the error, was to do reinstall the OS
