I have access to SQL 2005 Standard, and 2000 Standard. Is 2005 compatible with BES 4.1 SP2?

okay, I have found out, I can run on SQL 2005, and this is after the fact of installing 2000. My question now, is how painless is upgrading 2000 to 2005 on my live SQL server for BES. Is it reliable? As in can I count on it to come back and everything work perfectly after upgrade? Also, will I need to do anything on the BES portions of the site. Im running 4.1 SP2 HF1

Also thanks to everyone that has helped me in the past.. .this forums has saved my ass countless times.

Thanks all, and a Merry Christmas to all.

Okay.. just realized my SQL is 2000 SP 3a. Now, I want to at least get this up to SP4... how safe is applying the service pack to my only live server? Obviously i will back up the DB and everything, but will it jack up anything with BES? As in when I apply it, will I have to go back to BES and do anything to that?

Thanks,

I would stay at sql 2000 sp3 unless there is a need to go sp4. Check with Microsoft what are the patches for the new pack first. If your bes is running fine and there is no complaints as far as sql server is concern, then I would not upgrade.

Well I was reading some disaster recovery stuff for blackberry. And I want to setup replecation to a backup SQL server, in case the initial one goes down. After reading up about the upgrade... SP4 is alot more functional in this means. Hence the reason I wish to upgrade.
