I tested with 3G and Wifi (at my office and at home), the result is :
- With 3G, the voice quality was quite good. No noise, no delay or very little.
- Wifi scenario : the voice was delayed quite much. I spoke several words and the other end must wait a little bit to hear my voice.
- In both scenarios, voice always went through speaker phone, not handset.
I am using Bold 9000.
Anyway, as I understand, this is the first SIP client for BB, congratulate.
how you test it with 3g??????????

1. Will the application work OTA on a BES plan?
2. Because we have an Enterprise Server, is my BB not already part of our corporate network (shouldn't it talk to our astrix box)?
I guess why I'm asking this is because I can control our network (routers & switches) from my BB by just typing in that devices IP address, doesn't this mean I'm part of our network already (same as WiFi works).
Hope you understand my questions.

I am not BES expert. However, if it is OTA, your enterprise network is like the open internet to the BB. You will need a STUN server running in your network (same subnet as the Asterisk server). Now, since the all traffic from the BB goes through BES, I do not know if extra configuration is required. Chances are that you need to reconfigure the BES a bit as BlackVoib only use UDP.

This is very odd. It is usually the other way around.

Can you tell us with OS is on you 9700? We installed on our 9700 running OS v5.0.405 and had no problem installing and running. We did have an issue when running BlackVoib before the phone is activated. Once the phone is activated, BlackVoib can even run in WIFI only without a SIM card.

Hi, I have a BB8520 with OS 5 on it. Tried the app with voipdiscount (one of the betamax providers). Registration works well and I can place calls. I have three problems however when using wifi:
-calls get disconnected after 20 seconds or so
-I can hear the other party but they can not hear me
-I can not close the app
There was pretty much no lag though, which is encouraging.
Pls let me know if I can do more to help. I am happy to see an app close to launch. Keep up the good work.

There seems to be an issue with providers expecting "sender report" which we are not supporting at the moment and the team is working on. Hence that 20 second disconnect.

Use natrelay.deltathree.com as domain and stunserver.org as STUN server. The rest is self-explanatory.

For people connecting BlackVoib to SIP server in their own network. Make sure both the BB device and the server belongs to the same subnet. If they are not in the same subnet, make sure the sip definition in the server for BlackVoib's extension has NAT turned on.

Couple of issues, one cosmetic and one a possible problem for some users. The message that says "Network Start Successed" should be changed to something like, "Network Connected Successful" or even as simple as "Connected..."
Second thing, I have feature codes on my Asterisk system that use * and #. But, I can't enter those symbols on the softphone. Is it possible and I'm just overlooking it, or does it not work?
Not having much luck at all making it work from my WAN connection, and a great deal of delay when using it over GSM. What audio codecs are supported? Any chance of using a compressed codec instead of ulaw?
This app has great potential. I'm looking forward to seeing it mature.

Blackviob with Viatalk
Just to let all the Viatalk people know, it does work with Viatalk.
This is my Settings..........
Display name: What ever you want it to be
Password: xxxxxxx
Domain: xxxx.vtnoc.net
(I didn't check off "register with domain")
Outbound Proxy: xxxx.vtnoc.net
apn: internet
check wifi
Stun Server: stun.vtnoc.net
To check your settings go to: Viatalk asterisk configuration
(I would post a link but I am a new user and they won't let me)
I have been using it for a couple of hours now with no problems. The only things I don't like is the speaker phone thing. I have hooked up a wired headset so it's not that bad. I also don't like the fact that I can not connect with my phone book and no Bluetooth features. I haven't tried incoming call yet, so I can't tell you if it works or not. I am using Beta Version 5.2.
Hope this helps....

JeramiahX, good that you are using. There should be a released with a week that allows user to select where the sound comes out once a call is established.

I missed this part in my first response. It does answer the call when the green button is pressed if BlackVoib is in the foreground.

BlackVoib has been updated.
The current version is 0.56.
Users now can toggle between speaker phone and handset(from menu). The volume control also has been added. Just use the volume control when the main screen is on top.

I have upgraded to the 0.56 version on my BB 9000 v4.6.0.303 but am still experiencing the 20sec cut off with my Sipgate.co.uk service provider.

There are a few providers use non-extension with sender reports for signaling which BlackVoib does not support at the moment(sipgate is one of them). However, our team is busy working on this feature.
