If you're talking about the key tones when dialing, there is no way, currently, to disable those.

it also makes this crazy digital sound when you call a speedial. Is that what you're referring to?

Default Anyone actually know?

Ugh- But does anyone actually know how to turn the sound off? I notice that it doesn't make the sound when the phone is in the "Quiet" profile. But there doesn't appear to be any option in the profiles.

i think it's a cool sound but i wouldn't mind shutting it off either. I like as little noise as possible coming from my blackberry, including key clicks, tones, etc, etc...

I know some phones make that sound every time you make an outgoing call. I had a friend who had a phone like that. I don't like it, but i can deal with it for speed dials. :p

ok, ok-- i love that sound.

And no, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to shut it off that I've found. I've tried everything.

It's not a matter of "does anyone actually know." It can't be done.

Pretty dumb to not be able to turn this off on a business phone, as well as the camera shutter sound. Special effects might be "cool" to some, but for a business phone it is unacceptable to not have the option to disable the "gimmicks".

The speed dial xxx8220;Ixxx8217;m coolxxx8221; sound will be disabled if the phone is on quiet or vibrate mode, but the camera shutter cannot be disabled under any of the phone profiles which is serious oversight in my opinion.

So RIM OS developers, if you are reading thisxxx8230;.

1. Make an option to disable the speed dial sound.
2. Make an option to disable the camera shutter sound.
3. Make sure the camera shutter sound (if enabled) does not sound if the phone is in quiet or vibrate profile modes.
4. Problem easily solvedxxx8230;

the 8800 is a business phone, the 8300 is more of a consumer model than a business phone.

Agreed, but regardless of what the target market is for the 8300 model, push email is essentially designed for business use, whether your a fortune 500 CEO or a small business owner that also likes to take pictures and play music, it is not technically impossible to develop the option to disable the sounds.
