Default How To Maximum Password Attempts unlimited??

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to disable this option.

i.e. allow unlimited password attempts.

In Bes admin it says:

----------

Set the number of security password attempts (incorrect passwords entered) More... permitted on the BlackBerry device before the BlackBerry device data is erased and the BlackBerry device is disabled.

Default setting: 10 password attempts

You can use this rule to lower the number of password attempts.

-----------

What if i want to disable this option? leave blank perhaps? Or do i need to enter a high number like 10000?

thanks in advance.

Why would you want unlimited attempts?
That's not the right way to go about securing your BlackBerry environment.

It can't be done. 10 is the limit, like it or not.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I totally agree.

I know it's a potential security hole, but that's the way the man at the top wants it.

thanks again.

When the man on top gets his BlackBerry data stolen due to unlimited attempts, he's gonna blame you.

Assume the man up top has forgotten his p/w. He's telling you that he would continue to make attempts, time after time after time? That makes no sense. What big cheese would then put the BB down, come back and try another 10, 20, 30 times? Nobody would do that. My guess is that after about 6 or 7 tries, he would call you up and ask for a reset.

Personally, I don't think he has really thought it out. Good luck.
