Default 9700 Keyboard won't unlock

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my phone for a couple of months now will no problems, now when I hit the lock button at the top to disable the keyboard, it won't unlock at all and the only way out is a battery pull to reboot. I have tried updating the software and everything, and a device wipe, but unfortunately the problem is still occuring. I was wondering how to remove the operating system completely. I tried crackutil, but that did not work.

Im going bonkers! Any help would be appreciated!

To uninstall you OS is simple.

on your computer, go to control panel -> add/remove programs -> remove blackberry.

download a new/old OS (i like using 5.0.0.415 because it still has the standby password locking top buttons)

install it.

go to C:/program files/common files/RIM/blackberry

delete the vendor.xml file.

plug in blackberry

run apploader

follow instructions to downgrade

I am having the same problem. Is there anything other than downgrading the software?

Is there any way to unlock the phone? The only way I've been able to unlock it is to do a battery pull. Very annoying.
