I'm a BB user from China and I'm currently on a BIS+BES data plan with my carrier also with a hosted BES server overseas. The things is, facebook and twitter are blocked in mainland China, in order to get pass the nation's firewall, I have to reroute the traffic through the oversea BES server. I can do that by deleting the IPPP FOR BIBS service book in my BB and it works, but it seems to broke the BIS connection and the service book itself keeps pushing back. I'm wondering if I can set a kind of policy on my BES server so that specific apps or URLs can go through MDS instead of BIS.

you can have all traffic routed through BES, problem might be the hoster wont let you configure this for you as they like to keep it a simple standard BES for all.

To my knowledge, you cannot force Facebook and Twitter apps to use MDS.
They are BIS-B only.

BES has the ability to block their use, but I don't think you can force traffic through MDS on BES.

When I delete the IPPP FOR BIBS service book and leave IPPP Desktop service book, facebook and twitter seems to accessing internet through MDS and worked flawlessly. I just can't figure out a way to maintain that situation by keeping the service book from refreshing. Any idea on locking the service book entry? Or another approch, can BES force certain URLs to go through MDS so that I can create a filter for facebook and twitter.

Another question, if I switched my data plan to BES only. Will facebook and twitter go through MDS or the TCP settings?
