Hello All!
AMAZING it worked for me too!!.
I was getting the same error message and after trying a few things nothing was working. When I ran into this solution, I gave it a try.

I had to drop it a few times 3 or four... the last time I dropped it was with the screen facing up.

The device came back up and I was able to save some of the databases however, I wasn't able to do a software reload or a full backup.
I was lucky the only important thing I needed to retrieve was the address book and I managed to do so.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Cheers.

Default Throw it against floor

I got a old one for only $35. I throw it really hard against the carpet floor after a few gentle drops and failures. It is working well now.

After reading this thread and dropping my phone 6 or 7 times, each time with some strange screen workings, and getting seriously worried it snapped back into shape.

Does anyone know why this happens? I thought this was supposed to be such a superior instrument. I never had any problems with my cheap little Nokia. What does Blackberry/RIM have to say about it?

Default 7290 373 Error

I thought the suggestions were a joke for anyone else. With no other option I threw it on the ground, powered it up, and the hourglass was spinning. If only everything else works like this.

Default kwabam

I dropped my 7100 several times to no avail. I figured maybe 6' belly flop onto its face would do it. It did. Hour glass for a few minutes. Now back up and running. I feel like the phone is out on parole now though. Merits a close eye.

I really, honestly can't believe this worked. The first words out of my mouth were, "You've got to be &#*%ing kidding me..."

I guess knowing that the computers in the space shuttle are about as technologically advanced as my digital watch should have tipped me off about "high" technology.

Had to try it for myself, still can't believe it worked.

It may work but it's much better to simply wipe the device and reload the OS.

Default 7290 error 365 bang on floor

Banging a 7290 with error 365 on a hard surface will usually bring it back to life temporarily. Long enough to back up your contacts. Don't tap it, bang it. You will be able to back up your contacts, etc... but the unit will fail again. This is a CPU/memory/hardware problem.

Default device error 373

After reading that others have dropped their blackberry and it worked, I decided to try it out. I tried the carpet , it still wasn't working then I dropped on the floor twice. The hourglass came on and within 3 minutes it was working. I can't believe it . IT REEEAAALLLYYY DOES WORK!!!!
