Were you able to hit the enter key and it came back up?

It does not come back on when I hit enter. I get the same message when I remove the battery and put it back. I tried reinstalling the os, but xp just bounce back and forth in recognizing the device. Therefore, I couldn't even reinstall the os.

Did you ever get this fixed? I have a user with a similar problem and am unsure what to do to help them.

Bang your device hard on the floor a few times and it will come back to life. Seriously!

We have a 7290 handset with this error, and have searched all over for an answer but found nothing until we came across the answer from BB King who said "Bang your device hard on the floor a few times and it will come back to life. Seriously!" we had to laugh at this at first, but as this handset was going to be returned for repair we dscided to give it a go, tried a few gentle drops on the floor but same error, It wasn't until we dropped the handset 6foot down that it prompted us to type "start" to start the handset. We dropped it onto a carpeted floor, and it didn't break

Here is what I did to fix this error. Remove the battery for at least 5 minute. Make sure u have working SIM card, other wise remove the old SIM. You should receive an Hour glass spinning. Give a few minute, after that u will see a 507 message on the bb screen, (which means there is no app loaded on the bb) and the rest is history. Hope this help...

Thumbs up I can't believe it.

You've got to be jerking my chain. But then I tried it. Now granted, the first several times I didn't throw it down that hard. Then with my wife screaming at me (it's her blackberry), I figured "What the heck?" I've got nothing to lose anyway.

I REALLY threw it down hard, and then now, after the revolving hourglass for Many many minutes, it's back up and running.

I can't believe it... I just can't believe it!

These people are NOT kidding!

i got the same problem. I dropped it on purpose and it started to work, but was also resetting frequently. So, I kept on dropping it and now I think it's completely dead. Ordered a used one from ebay for $61. 7290

-Does anyone know if the password keeper is also synced to outlook or some other program when I sync my bb with my desktop?

Password Keeper is not synced to Outlook. It is backed up when you do a Backup via Desktop Manager.
