Hi Everyone,
I watched on the BB site the video "How do I push data from my server to a Blackberry smartphone" In the presentation they talk about how you reference the push application from the main solution, where when the button in the solution is clicked the "Push" data comes to BB. Is there a way to push the data to the BB device without any user intervention. I have a requirement to send down some customer data to our sales forces' BBs. I want to do this on the background without them having to push any buttons.
I assume you're talking about browser push? Sounds like you might want to create a custom application and implement the PUSH listener api, it's covered here in the RIM application development manual under creating client/server push applications
Thanks for the link. Will I be able to push the data down to the BB. I need the data to be store in the BB which then I can use to refer in an application in the BB. Can this be done?
Its not really a browser push, but rather a data push. I have table of customers by our salesmen id with their BB pin. I want to write an application that will run in the sever to extract subsets of data based on BB pin and push that data to the BBs. Then another application will refer to that pushed data t and fill the customer information in that particular application. We are not a Java shop. I have to do this in Visual Studio. My question is how do I do this?
