Thumbs up BlueTooth Headset For the Pearl - One That Works

Please Login to Remove!

Before buying a bluetooth headset for my Pearl I researched all of BBF and the Net for the best one.

The model most praised was the Nokia BH-900.

I have been using mine for about three months now and I have to say it is the best.

-- It easily connects with the Pearl.

-- Range is excellent. I can use it about 30 feet or so with walls between the headset and the phone.

-- Battery life on the internal rechargeable battery is good.

-- People say that when I am talking through it my voice is clear.

-- The volume on the headset can be adjusted so it is very loud in noisy environments.

-- It is very light. I have left it hanging on my ear and forgot that I was wearing it, sometimes as long as five hours.

-- Best part, these retailed for $130. Now they can be bought on eBay for as low as $30, plus shipping.

After three month's testing, I 100% recommend this BlueTooth headset.

I stopped being a lawyer so to do things more fun and worthwhile.

My new found interests requires full time on the PC and Net. So much better than fighting all the time in fed court.

When I first started buying stuff from Hong Kong I thought shipping would take forever.

But over time I have seen the Hong Kong sellers ship pretty fast. As a group I have to say they are decent.

Usually their stuff takes about two weeks to arrive, sometimes less, but never more than that.

If you pay quickly [recall that there is a time difference] our night is their day, so they most of the time ship soon after you pay.

I note that his auction ends today, in a few hours. I suspect he will send out all the sales of that item at the same time, so get your payment in.

Thanks for the great info. I have been looking for a BT headset but didn't know which one to buy. Too many choices.

Just ordered this one. The price is right.

I have had a love/hate (but mostly hate) relationship with BT headsets and I have gone through 3. I finally got the Jawbone because of reviews and the video on their website. I must say it lives up to the hype. It's actually loud so I can hear and people can hear me - even with loud background noise.

Nice to see that maybe these things are finally coming of age. That's a great price in your post.

My son has had a similar relationship (I think he is working on his 4th or 5th headset) w/BT headsets. He just brought a Jawbone and absolutely LOVES it, which is a little disappointing to me because I usually get his old hand-me-downs and I was really looking forward to the Jawbone . Guess I'll just have to open up my wallet and buy my own.

Read my post, this one I have used for about three months. Works well.

If any of you have problems hooking it up, let me know and I will post a video tutorial on getting it to work on the Pearl.

It's not complicated, but you have to follow the steps.

Hi San Francisco

Have you tried activating the Pearl's voice dialing feature via the BH900?

Thanks

No, because I don't use voice dialing. Never have trained it, etc.

Man that's a bummer. I use voice dialing almost excusively. FWIW, you don't have to train the voice dialing system. Just activate the voice control(I do it via the left side convienience key) and say a name in your contact list. Or you can just say a phone number.

What I meant by "train" was the generic term for "setting up." Most of my contacts have three numbers for each. And some have their names with their e-mails as the only listing.

When using voice dial it would ask what I wanted to call: home, mobile, etc. So that was a hassle, especially when some names only had an e-mail and not phone numbers.

I just never took the time to get the whole thing organized and cleaned up.

But I did try a call with a person who had their name only, with a phone number to mobile and home. The Pearl w/ this headset worked perfect.

It first confirmed that the contact I wanted was the one she was naming.

When I said "Yes" she asked if I wanted to dial home or mobile.

I said "mobile" and it dialed the friend's cell.

That's the extent of my test.

Sidenote: I'm still not gonna clean up my contacts. That would be an 8 hour job.
