Default GooG 411 as a BES app

Please Login to Remove!

Hi and thanks for all the help over the years, I've been lurking for some time and finally decided to join up since I have a problem I can't solve or find a fix via searching.

My boss recently authorized me to push out the GooG 411 app to our users to help drive down 411 costs with our carriers. We are running an Exchange 2003 environment with BES 4.1.5 (MR2.) The issue is after dropping the GooG411_40 folder (which contains only the cod file) into the applications folder of our BES share and running the indexer, the goog411 application is nowhere to be found, the PkgDBcache and specification files are created but when I open BES manager and try to make a software config it doesn’t appear under the Application software, I also tried dropping the alx file contained in the zip from Google in the folder as well and reran the indexer (after deleting the PkgDBcache and specification files) this recreates the PkgDBcache and specification files but I still get nothing in BES manager, has anyone else tried getting goog411 working as a pushable package via BES?

Thanks in advance

Hi There, i am new to this forum and am searching for a solution for exactly the same problem you described.

I Followed the following installation guide:
blackberry.com/select/dst2007/Deploying_DST_2007_Update.pdf

GoogleMaps.cod
gmm_223.alx
BES 4.1.4 (bundle 143)

Hopes anyone has the key.

Where exactly did you put it? Each app has its own directory so when you dump the files, it should be dumped into a dir like this:

\\server\RIMApps\Shared\Applications\DST2007

Then you run the index function

Then you create a Software Configuration File...
