Default NEW BB OWNER 8820!! Oh YEAH!!!!

Come on Forums!! Hook me Up!!!

Im a brand new Blackberry 8820 Owner! I told AT&T to take a hike, and I bought a USED BB8820. MY questions are simple....

AS a New Owner, give me the most basic of advice!

DO I need to upgrade?

Is there a Better Theme?

Does anyone have anything especial that is important to the 8820!?

I plan on using Wi-Fi instread of Data Plan, any tips, tricks, advice?

Bottom line.....Im a first time Blackberry Owner and I want to enjoy it, please give me your tips tricks advice and just good nature. This will determine my choice to use this website in the future!

hey there ...Welcome to the world of blackberry!

I am too quite new to blackberry. Similar position as you, i purchased my first ever blackberry which happened to be the 8820!

You might wanna download the latest OS V4.5 for the main blackberry.com website, as im assuming u probably got the V4.2?

Im using wi-fi too for surfing web pages but i have added the blackberry email plan which gives me all my emails plus allows me to use yahoo, msn and blackberry messengers all for free. Really cool!

Im actually new to this site, joined it last night.

Updrade, I am assuming that you mean upgrade the OS? I personally would wait until you really learn the features and functions and how a BB works. No need in risking turning it into a brick on day 1. Read the User Guide, surf the forums (and search) and read our FAQ.

To really get the most out a BB and to have less problems, you really should get the BB data plan. This will also give you push email. Otherwise, you will having to use work arounds and doing without many of the functions and features that make a BB a BB.
