Default All Blackberry micro cables the same?

Please Login to Remove!

Are they interchangeable? Say, could you use a Blackberry Bold cable with a Playbook (just as long as they are both micro)?

Pretty much the way it works. I use whatever cable I have handy at the time I need it.

Wow, Thanks for the speedy reply!
So any old micro cable will work? I am asking is because I have a couple of kindles, nooks and a lot of cellphone cables that are all micro...
Am I correct in thinking that it is the charger itself that makes or breaks the deal?

Yes, for the most part. If I need a cable to transfer anything over to my device from my PC I usually use whatever cable is in reach.

I use my Samsung and generic cables all the time. Unless I am charging, then I use my PB charger. If you are using one of the newer models (Z/Q) and the cable is not a BlackBerry one, you may get an error when trying ti charge, but nothing can be damaged by using a different cable.

And that error message on the Z10/Q10 may or may not occur depending on the OS version, phase of the moon and sun transit activity.

Still not harmful.

I usually use my PB rapid charger on my Z and 9900. Never had an issue.

there are some USB cables that are charge only and can knot be used for data sync, also when used in a newer PC they can allow higher current to charge the device.

but almost all cables will allow charging

Playbook can be charged with old style chargers while powered off, some that are 500ma wont work but the higher amp ones do.
