Default Synch Address Book with Lotus Notes?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I'm new here. I support a few BB devices at work. I have an issue I am hoping to solve. I have a user here with a new 9650 Bold on Sprint. I don't think the device type matters but there it is.

We also use Lotus Notes 6.5.3. This user is NOT on a BES. Basically, the synch is only working one way, from Notes ---> Device. If he adds entries to his address book on the BB and then synches, the entries do not transfer to the names.nsf file on his laptop.

My initial guess is that there is an ACL issue with the names.nsf. However, if this is the case I don't know how to fix it since he is not on a BES.

Does anyone have any idea how we can get this to work? He only uses his BB to synch calendar and contacts. He does not use it for email.

Thanks very much!!!!

He uses Desktop Manager?
Sounds as though its only setup to sync one way, not two way.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. He is using Desktop Manager to synch, and I have checked and made sure that he is synching both ways. So the issue is somewhere else.

I think it must have something to do with access control on the local address book. For instance, I just had him add a name to his address book on the device. He then did a synch, and it does not appear in his names.nsf. So something is missing.

I am almost thinking he may need to use Intellisynch or some other 3rd party program we don't have.

Are you sure he is pointing in DM to the correct names.nsf file. I have never had an issue using a wired connection.

AFAIK there is only one names.nsf. Like I said, it synches from his Notes to his BB, just not the other way around, and I am positive he is set to a 2 way synch.

THanks - Bart
