Help.

I just got my Torch (8700 -> 9000 -> 9700 -> 9800) and can not for the life of me find out how to turn off dial from home screen so I can use the keyboard shortcuts.

I have a sinking feeling they have been discontinued on the Torch.

Can anyone help me, or confirm they are gone?

from the home screen, press the blackberry key then options.

At the top, you'll see "launch by typing". change it to application shortcuts.

goto options, display, home screen prefs and set universal search to shortcuts.

No you have to choose between Universal Search and Home Screen Shortcuts. Go ahead from the home screen and choose options and make your choice. I of course chose Shortcuts and will tap for search.
