BTW, FYI: i have a 8300 but i never use the zoom, since this is only a digital zoom the system works like you would yust open the picture in photoshop and cut the middle part out and zoom it in.
if you want to transfer the pix to PC its always bether to leave the zoom turned off and use it on the computer...
