Rogers (or any other carrier for that matter) will not be releasing OS 6 for the 9700 until the New Year. If they were to, they wouldn't sell any of the 9780's when they get released on October 21. Makes sense, good marketing strategy...............

I sometimes wonder how knowledgeable and skilled the decision makers are at the top for these releases.

The biggest thing I'm thinking is to make sure the support reps and sales reps know the product.

Testing OS6 shouldn't be that big of a deal, they've got the Torch. But for the support side, how OS6 looks and functions on the 9700 needs to be known.

I'd agree in part that the 9780 should release first, but I'm not sure if sales would be hurt from an upgrade. Most BB users don't even know about OS updates. Even my 'tech savvy' friends usually don't do upgrades and have no idea about major OS releases.

The 9780 is also better hardware, those who realise this would probably go right for it.

If it's Oct 21st for that phone I'll either be getting that, or a Torch. Whatever RIM gives me for free

Thumbs down The Worst Build

This is the WORST upgrade/build I have ever experienced. I keep getting some kind of language error message or phone error message every time I reboot the phone. Dropped calls galore, web won't work as fast, all of a sudden all of my BBM contacts disappeared last night...just out of the blue. Had to restore the contacts. Then uninstall BBM, reboot, reinstall, then reboot...finally got that to work. I am downgrading and leaving well enough alone until OS6 comes out.

I could go on and on about this build, but I would not recommend it.

It's been a great build for me. Everything works exactly as it should. Boot time is about 10 seconds faster (timed it), battery life is good and generally snappy performance. No bugs that I've run across. I'm so happy with this build, I might wait for an official OS 6 release or 2 before changing over.

You're doing it wrong. You're a 'lucky' case obviously because everyone else here seems to love it.

All I can say is that the TEXTING skill does not improve your writing skills. so when posting here, I think real Eng helps and may be people from other planet also can understand it clearly..
