Default 8320 sim card latch?

Please Login to Remove!

So I was wondering if anyone else noticed that the latch for the sim card on the 8320 is even worse than on the pearl? Mine is, and I dont know if the rep who put my sim card in messed it up (which he might have) or, if they are all like that, or if maybe I should go exchange it? It doesn't lock in place basically at all, but it doesn't make the phone have a sim error like it did on the pearl. Anyone else experience this?

I would exchange it anyway if it really does have a problem. It may loosen up over time and give a sim card error.

Mine is very stiff and it almost feels like you're going to break it when closing it.

Its strange its almost like its not designed to slide into place. it just has a hinge, and only moves about a millimeter either way.... I tried to pull it a little to see if it was stuck, but obviously didn't want to pull too hard lol

The SIM latch on my 8310 is also far worse then that on my 8300. It works though.

Bryan, where did you get your 8310? I want one more than the 8320 I have. I really prefer GPS over Wifi, but thought I could work with the 8320 plus GPS via bluetooth, but that is not working for me (must be an OS problem, I can't connect any of my GPS receivers, that worked on the 8300).

Ugh! Its so ironic because I remember a lot of people complained about how flimsy the latch was on the 8100. Haha I guess they showed us.

+1, mine is built like a tank -- I swore I was going to break it until I finally felt/heard the *click* of it slipping into place. My microSD card latch is similarly tight, but not as much.

My SIM latch is also pretty loose. Almost lost the card during a battery pull. :-\

Me too! It took significant pressure with two fingers to move the SIM card holder toward "Unlock," and the same moving it toward "Lock." Despite the heavy hand the card holder is locked in place and the device is working fine.

Both the sim card latch and the memory card latches were extremely hard to move for me... I thought I was going to break one or both of them!
