Hi, I have a couple questions on my 8330 curve that I can't figure out.

1 - I'm using gmail for my email. And whenever I send an email with gmail, I receive an email displaying what I just sent. I don't want that. I looked and don't know how to turn it off.

2 - When I receive an email, that email also appears in my text messages...how do I stop that?

3 - Unrelated question, the mute button on top, can I have that disable/enable bluetooth? or some other function? Thanks. I set up my bluetooth but the option "SET UP BLUETOOTH" it still on the home screen, shouldn't it be changed to "turn BT on or off" now? I have to actually go in there to turn it on, a few extra steps. Thanks.

I found this answer somewhere else when I had the same problem. I tried to post the link but this site won't let me. The topic is called "HOW-TO: Prevent G-mail "Sent Items" from being sent to your handheld" so maybe you can find it that way.

Steps are not too many to miss one of them
I added filter, as described, saved changes ... still receive my sent emails.
Not that big deal - I managed to receive only headers and then to receive body of e-mail (If I want!), but ... still no luck with no receiving of sent g-mails.

Hey, thanks. That link worked for me. Now I need to know though...how do I get the emails to stop being sent to my text messages too.

What icon do your messages have? If it's green checks then you need to hide sent items under Messages->Options. If the icons are envelopes then the link above should work unless you're missing/skipping something.

If you're referring to Messages it's not just for text messages. It's a universal inbox. Your best bet is to go into Messages->Options and choose to separate SMS/MMS. Then you'll have a dedicated SMS/MMS icon.

Not as far as I know. It's always mute/standby/silence ringer.

As for the Set Up Bluetooth icon it will always be for Bluetooth setup. Turning BT on & off is done via Manage Connections.

Hey, yes it was a universal mailbox...now that I have that complete lol, can you tell where to go to remove the universal message box? and other icons as well. I don't want to wipe them out, just make them invisible.

...you cant remove the universal message box. you can hide it, though, as well as other icons. just move the curser over the icon, then hit the bb key and select hide.

It is a normal envelope.
I am sure that I am not missing a step - did it three times already!
Am I a silly or what ?

If you're sure that you're not missing anything in the filter setup, I feel compelled to point out the obvious: the filter won't effect mail that you've already sent/received, it will only apply to mail sent/received after adding the filter.
