Default Blackberry Messenger loses contact when battery removed!

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my 8700f for a few weeks now and have started to use Blackberry Messenger.

However, I have found a problem which makes it almost pointless.. After you have removed the battery from the BB, the next time you run Messenger, you are told "Device has changed, do you want to update or delete contacts"

If you hit delete, you loose all your contacts.. If you select 'update' they go into a 'pending' state (I guess waiting for the other person to reconfirm)

This makes it somewhat pointless.. I know that you don't plan to remove your battery.. But whats the point of building a list of contacts knowing that they will only last until the battery is removed.

In case its relevant, I am running 4.5.0.52

Is this normal? A bug? A known problem?

Anyone seen this and no of a solution?

I look forwards to hearing from you

Jon

Wirelessly posted (BB 8330)

I am pretty sure its a bug from that OS version.

If thats my only option, I think I will live with it.. I would rather have the 4.5 features, than Messenger.. Hopefully a new version of 4.5 will come out soon and that will solve it..

Thanks for your help
