I have been tasked at work to come up with a comparison (Advantage/Disadvantage) of BB over Good or Vice versa. We currently have a Good Message Server (5.0) and are having some issues. We have about 500 users on it and we have to reload these phones all the time. We are currently running a BB Evaulation Server and are looking to switch. I am lookng more for the advantages or features of the End User more then the Server.

So far from what I have read BB is more secure (not a big deal for us), More Reliable (Big plus); but I am looking for the small things that I can go back and tell my manager.

Any thing you guys can give me would be greatly apprediated!

* Ease of use, which translates to less need for constant service/support. They're simple to figure out, and 99% of user problems can be solved/fixed with quick procedures, like pulling the battery. Users appreciate that Blackberrys just always seem to work, and work great. Very little training is needed so you really just have to hand the user a Blackberry with his email set up on it, and he's up and running.
* Ease of maintaining corporate control of information - IT Policies. (not an end-user advantage, but an important one in the corporate world nowadays)
* Users can "bring their own" and be connected to the corporate BES, or they can be issued company Blackberrys.

Being in the middle of a Good to BB migration, here are my thoughts.

With Good, there is always the case of 2 sets of everything. Native contacts, and Good contacts. Same with Email, Calendars, Tasks and Notes. With BB, everything is native. Advantage, BB

Good will take over the phone limiting use of voice dialing and custom themes, among other features. Advantage, BB

When moving a message in Outlook, from your Exchange mailbox to a PST, the message will stay in the BB mailbox on your phone. Advantage, Good.

Slingplayer mobile will only work on a limited number of BlackBerry's (no Sprint or Verizon models). Advantage, Good

The phones just work Advantage, BB

All kidding aside, the phones just seem more intuitive. We had people on Treo's and Moto Q's, and about 95% of the users I have moved, LOVE their new BlackBerrys. The noly model we're using is the Curve, so I can't say what any of the others would be like.

Our guys evaluated a number of solutions, and the one that sold us on the Blackberry is the relatively low TCO, both from a straight money standpoint as well as deferred support costs. We're using the BB 8330 Curve and everybody loves theirs; those few who tested the Storm went back to their Curves after only a few weeks, so it looks like the expense of a mass migration has been stalled.
