Default Looking for creative ways to dump G1 for 8900

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I made the ghastly mistake of dumping my pearl for a G1 around Christmas and have been regretting it ever since. Unfortunately, I didn't come to my senses until after the T-Mobile return period -- so I'm somewhat stuck with it.

What I would love to do is find a way to get rid of the G1 and pick up an 8900 when it comes out without making it an overly costly process.

A little background on the situation:
- The G1 was acquired with my plan's upgrade
- I have family members who have upgrades, but none seem to be very interested in swapping their upgrade for the G1
- The phone is in great shape, I just miss my blackberry

I've only dealt with upgrades, so wheeling and dealing phones is somewhat new territory to me -- and if anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for your help

Sell your G1 on Craiglist, eBay or the Buy, Sell, Trade forums. I've personally had the best luck with craiglist and Hofo.

Any ideas how much a slightly-used G1 would fetch? Like I said, if possible, I want to avoid winding up having spent $200 for a G1 then another $300-400 for an 8900.

Thanks for the help

Get the unlock code and sell it as soon as you can. Once anther Android device comes out it'll probably be better looking, faster, or otherwise more desirable.

New ones have recently sold for more than $300 on Ebay. Used ones well over $200 but if you don't have a lot of feedback on there you'll probably get less.

Unlock it. And mail it to me. And I will send you happy thoughts wich will help you with your dilema. That should work right?
Or just unlock it. Find out what kind of phone your relative does want and get that for them and presto you can use their upgrade. Or. If you know someone who wants the g1 and does not have a tmobile plan have them setup a new pland and instead of them getting a new phone sell them your g1 and get the 8900 that way. Did that make sence how I typed it?

Lay on the floor and beg for forgiveness from your wife if married and if not married why worry, just go get a BB and chock it up to stupidity. Either way you get a new BB

Sorry, this isn't the help you're looking for, but I have a question:
I just bought a BB for the first time (the Curve 8900); I am on T-Mobile, of course, and got it with a renewed subscription just like you got your G1. However, I bought it two days ago, and I'm still not sure which phone is better. I'm pretty unsophisticated, and there are some questions I can't seem to find the answers to, such as this:
Does the G1 have full HTML, while the Blackberry Curve 8900 has something else, that cannot access as many websites?

I know this is probably a fairly stupid question, but I'm having trouble finding the answer.

Thanks.
