Default SMS text message ringtone problems.. HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

I am using a Blackberry Pearl on Cingular prepaid. I am new to the Blackberry. I just got it today. When I receive an SMS text message, the ringtone does not play except for when the last transaction page shows but it takes a few seconds to start playing even then. It also takes a few seconds for the ringtone to play when I am receiving a call. Help?

Is there not a way to have the phone vibrate and ring?

No, there isn't. The phone will vibrate first and then ring.

It's vibrate then ring, vibrate only, ring only, or none.

Those are the choices.

Thanks. Also when the last transaction window opens up because I am using it for Cingular prepaid it makes 2 beeps no matter if the phone is on vibrate, quiet or loud. Is there any way to deactivate those beeps?

Try editing your SMS alerts in your profiles and see if that adjusts that tone, they could be sent via SMS, I am not sure.

Also, when I have the phone on vibrate... The phone will never vibrate when a call is coming in. It won't even show a call is coming in. It will just pop up as I have a missed call.

Default Message Alert Tone

Hi Everyone,

I don't pretend to know everything about the BlackBerry. But I would be assuming, the notifications would be sent as a Level 1 Message.

When you go to your profile, select profile, then select edit. There is a heading Level 1 Messages, try changing the tone settings there and see if that helps.

Let me know how you get on if this has helped.

thanks Cal.

Unhappy "last transaction message" tone

Hi,
I'm having the same problem with the pay as you go messages from cingular. Everytime i get a txt message from someone it vibrates just like my profile is set for. But then i get a txt message/alert from cingular stating how much they just charged my account. When the messge from cingular comes in it has a tone that i cannot seem to change or mute. What is going on?

I've tried changing the tone for level 1 & SMS messages with no favorable results. Can anyone HELP me with this?
