Default Speaker sound

I think the 8900 speaker is horrible, I had the 8800 and that speaker was the bomb. The music sounded so great but on my 8900 it sounds like there is too much bass and my ringtones sound like sh*t! Anyone else have this issue?

Mine has acceptable quality and volume, but no great leap forward from 8310. I'd never accuse such a small device of having too much bass, though, it's usually the opposite.

Mine sounds like it needs to be EQ or something.

Sound quality is poor. I am now keeping my 8310 around because the 8900 alarm does not wake me up.

This is really bad to hear about the 8900! I have the T-mo 8320 right now, and feel as though I need a louder speaker!

Possibly... I am hoping that Seidio will be making a replacement, rubberized back cover for the 8900 with speaker holes, just like they did for the Pearl and the older Curve. Their site indicates that they are working on new stuff for the 8900... my fingers are crossed.

Javelin has 1 speaker and it is not covered, it is at the back, similar to the K850i... when phone is placed on a table it masks the sound... = bad design. The speaker is like radio quality.

Bold on the other hand has 2 speakers (stereo) on the L/R sides of the phone, and has good quality, acceptable for listening. Ringtones sound fantastic.

Both phones sound great with earphones, no change there at least.

Um... the speaker is covered. Heck, it's so covered, I can't even see it when I remove the battery cover, so I now wonder if the Seidio battery door would even make a difference.

Well that kinda sucks, My 8310's audio quality is great and loud.. I guess we have to wait and see if "Seido" will manufacture an enhanced audio replacement door similar to the one they have avail for the 8xxx models...

i doubt seidio will have anything as the speaker is under the camera... if you take the the battery cover off you will see the port right under the glass for the camera. so therefore you cannot make a new battery cover...
