Default Help installing an app over desktop rather than OTA - Have Jad and COD files

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I've been cruising through a lot of past posts in this forum and a few others trying to get this to work and I need a bit more help.

I have a BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on the Telus network.

I have a JAD file, and got the COD files using a program called OTA Loader.

OTA download isn't going to work. I've tried putting the JAD and COD files on my media card and downloading from there, but I get Error 907 - Invalid COD...so that's not working either.

So I need to get an alx file so that I can do it over Desktop Manager it seems.

I've found a jar to alx converter, but that doesn't help me, because all I have is JAD and COD files.

Is there anyway to get a JAR file from JAD and CODs? Or a way to convert the JAD/CODs to ALX?

Here's the code of the jad file when opened in notepad:

Use an app called Create-A-Jad. It can be used to create both a .jad and/or a .alx file to enable installation via OTA OR DTM.

Create-A-JAD – Free App to Easily Create BlackBerry OTA Installer JAD for COD Files « BerryReview Forums

OR

Simply copy the .jad and .cod files to a memory card, using the EXPLORE function of the media app to locate the .jad file, and install the .jad/.cod files from the phone itself.

Tried that, I get an Error 907 though, Invalid COD. I looked it up and it seems like that's because of my Telus crippled phone.

I tried create-A-JAD late last night and couldn't seem to get it to work. When I tried to install it from Desktop Manager it told me that it wasn't compatible with my Berry, and I checked the website and this app is supposed to be compatible. Perhaps I did something wrong with Create-A-JAD?

Here's what I inputted:

Application Name: skiracer
Version: 1.47 (That's the version it's supposed to be, do I have to fill it out the same?)
Vendor: Same as the vendor of the actual app
COD Files: Dragged in my 3 COD files..

So say I leave the box unchecked, it says the following for instructions:
Quote:
1. Copy and paste the created .alx file in your OSxxx8217;s folder (ie. 9530-v4.7.0.167_P4.0.0.205)
2. Copy and paste the .cod files into the Java folder (if you checked that box when creating the .alx) or into the same OS folder as step 1 (if you left the checkbox unchecked)
3. Install using AppLoader (Loader.exe) or Desktop Manager
So I just create a folder called 8130-vblablablabla, and then place the alx and cod files in there?

PM me the link (or post it here) for the .jad file (the OTA link to d/l and install the app), and I will try it for you.

Default Same exact issue

I am trying to get the Hypaereon Sliq for Tour 9630 theme. I have the jar and cod files. Error 907 when trying to install off memory card, no compatible software if i convert to alx. I believe if someone here with a tour could load the theme OTA then do a backup with BBSAK that would create a valid ALX file I could use. I need the (non 5.0 version)

I cannot post links yet but the files can be found at
h***://bit.ly/28JBna

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
