That's what I ended up doing. I ended up on the phone with customer care and surprisingly actually got to talk to someone whos first language was english.
He didn't act like he had heard of the issue before, but beins I had only had the phone in my possession for about 6 hours he's sending me out another brand new one. I fell into the 14 day return policy so he just refunded the money for my original purchase and is redoing me up another invoice from scratch and sending me out another new phone. Was surprisingly easy, unlike the last couple times I had issues with my pearl.
