Default Data Plan Required?

Please Login to Remove!

I would possibly like to subscribe to XM Radio for BB as well as the Telenav Navigation. For these things, is a data plan required? I want these things, but don't want/need a data plan. Thanks!

Yes, you need a data plan for both of those applications.

Yes I've seen the thread, but it sounds like it is not very stable. Thats why I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the official one being out.

Also, could someone give me a quick explanation of what is included?

Default wifi suplement Data plan

Hello All

I just picked up an 8320 and do not have a data plan. I read the FAQ at : What do I need a Data Plan for? - BlackBerryFAQ

I suppose my question is if you can suplement much of the need for a Data Plan with being frequently connected to WiFi?

Are there limits to the functionality of this device when connected to a WAP rather than the Edge network?

I have tons of other questions but I will try to answer them myself first.

THanks in advanced for any assistance.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8320)

Without a data plan anything that is not able to use a wireless connection will not work. You will also not have access to BIS email.

As stated above, it IS an official version, released by Vodafone. Rumors that AT&T would release a version last week turned out to be false.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Its an official version that was rushed out. It IS official but does have a few bugs. Its not a bad release for ATT users, though.

Try going into your media player, hit the blackberry button, go up to now playing, hit stop, and then back out using the back button and not the end call button. Then try deleting the video.

^Thanks, that worked. I also got it to become fast again. The problem was I had no more room on my phone, so I just moved some stuff to my 4gig card. Another thing, Telenav maps stopped working with this new firmware. When I try to open it, it says "Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointerException"
anyone know what it means?

Go back and install Docs To Go and that error will go away.

I don't have enough room :( I can't install apps on the memory card, right? OK So I have to start deleting stuff now then. What are some helpful things to do to free up some space?
