9670 Style Haters - What does the new 9780 Bold have over this phone??
Please Login to Remove!
A sim card???
Give this "throwback" Retro little Jewell some Love!
Same OS6, trackpad, 512 memory, GPS, WiFi, etc. 3G, etc...
Yes the Bold has 80 out of 480 more lines of resolution on it's smaller screen for a (10%) more view of a web page, but the Style has a larger screen and a second screen. Love it or hate it, it has virtually the same specs as the new "flagship" bold...
The little Retro Jewell might do a lot better then some people think!

That's my point! There is not much difference except the GSM carriers that require a SIM card don't offer it!
Everyone is raving about the new Bold that hasn't even been released , and this phone compares very well. It's the newest Blackberry to date, and will sell a LOT better than people think.

I think the clamshell is the most absurd thing that RIM could have added to their lineup.
It's an embarrassment, in my opinion. Destined for failure.

We shall see my friend. If people can get past their ego of being seen with a clamshell- they would have the best new Blackberry out there!

The flip phone release is what brought me into the Blackberry fold. My phone choices are not ego driven; perhaps this compromises me as a Blackberry owner?

Got one and love it
I went into Sprint store last night and got one for my wife. The display is amazing compared to my Tour.

I think it's destined to be a niche device, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's destined for failure. Making it a Sprint exclusive limits early adoption, but it could be released on Verizon easily, and surly will should sales on Sprint show any promise.
I get what RIM is trying to do with this model. They're looking to capture some of the market that doesn't embrace smartphones and gravitates towards simple flip phones. This model could bridge the gap between confirmed, dyed-in-the-will flip phone users and BlackBerry users. And they only need to capture a portion of that market for the Style to be a sales success. Who knows? Maybe some of the converts would eventually move on to other BlackBerry models. Once the BlackBerry bug gets you, you're hooked!

I just bought mine, after struggling with the POS tour for 18 months...wow what a mission.
Now to figure this thing out. when you have been used to the traditional BB user format this was like going from XP to win 7. Another learning curve.

Previously mentioned SIM card = gaurantees larger roaming ability & cheaper roaming rates as it CAN be fully unlocked/free.
Better Battery life = you CANNOT argue this ;)
More universal style & appeal and thus BETTER chance at applications and themes being abundant.
STill more efficient for emails (no issues for full out compositions).
- Calls could actually be more efficient for the Style [unless BT headsets are used].
I think this is STILL a niche device; a larger one from the Pearl Flip though. To be honest RIM SHOULD advertise this just a little more though. This really is what the Pearl Flip SHOULD'VE been in the very first place.

Just got the 9670 this week. Actually gave up the EVO for the Style. I really like this phone.

Re: 9670 Style Haters - What does the new 9780 Bold have over this phone??
I have a Style but moved my primary to Verizon so the Style is back up. Its a great phone. I have also had the 9780 when I was on t mob and the Style is just as good just worse battery life. And camera placement sucks. Other than that its one of the BB out.

Not sure about the Style making it to AT&T but there is a CDMA version of the Torch coming to Sprint. Not sure when or what it's going to be called. But if RIM sticks with their past device naming trends, it'll probably be called the "Torch" on Sprint.
