Ok, good question. Go by the directions in the initial post. They are worded better than I can paraphrase.
It says: "b) Install your current OS on your BlackBerry device to your PC.
If you are using a beta OS, it must be installed on the PC. Find the most current OS release for your model in this same 9500/9530 model section, in the Sticky Notes at the top."
So you're right, you don't download that Tmobile... download it from the link in that line of the instructions.
You have 5.0.0.1015 installed on your 9550 now. Click on the latest OS 9550 thread at the top of the page, that will be OS .1082, scroll to the bottom of that initial post to the Previous OS here line, and find .1015.
Download it, install and continue.

Re: Unlocked Storm on AT&T or T-Mobile
JSanders, thank you so much for the instructions here.
I recently had a couple of T-Mobile BlackBerrys that had reached the end on their lives, and had two unlocked Verizon 9650s as spares. Following your instructions I am using them with full functionality on the T-Mobile network.
Thanks again.
Cameron

Step 8 is this:
Quote:
8. On your Storm go to Option > Advanced Options > TCP/APN should say
APN: wap.cingular
Username:WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
|
If yours does not say the same as above, then type in that information so that it does mirror this.

Re: Unlocked Storm on AT&T or T-Mobile
Hello!
I'm having issues with step 3, it seems with the current version of the Desktop Software or even apploader that I cannot see the .cod file the guide refers to. I can see it in Windows Explorer in the JAVA folder, and I can move it to a new folder, but I cannot see it on the device with either program :(. Any ideas?

Yes, she needs the BIS plan on the Storm2, and follow the directions in the first post of this thread, exactly as written.

The 9650 is different from the 9530, so that could be why, but do you have a blackberry data plan?

Re: Unlocked Storm on AT&T or T-Mobile
Mytorchool, I don't know if it'll work or not. I do know that the Verizon 9850 does not have the same 3G bands as Tmobile so at best you'll get slow EDGE data speeds and I don't know why you'd want that.
