I got a question from a caller to our office today. The woman wanted to know if she could swap out the SRP Key and SRP Identifier in her company's BES Professional Software with a FULL Enterprise Edition BES SRP Key and SRP Identifier they have (that hasn't been installed yet) instead of forking over $2,700 for the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Trade-up Key.

She was hoping to save doing a fresh installation.

Any thoughts?

And just what is the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Trade-up Key? Is it a CAL key or is it a new set of SRP Key and SRP Identifier or is it something else?

And just what is the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Trade-up Key? Is it a CAL key or is it a new set of SRP Key and SRP Identifier or is it something else?

The trade up key is just a CAL that converts a Small Business BES to a full BES. Small Business is the same functionally as BES but with a 15 user maximum.

BES Professional is a slightly different flavour of software.
