Default How can I change SIM card and still stay connected to the same Exchange server??

Please Login to Remove!

If someone can help me I would be over-the-moon as no one I have called and no google search has come up with anything useful. To keep this brief, I connect to an exchange server and use BES with an 8300 via Cingular. When I travel to Europe, I don't want to have to pay roaming data and voice fees so i have a UK SIM card with data and BES enabled. Although my device refuses to sync with the exchange server in the UK giving me error messages of "service blocked".

For what its worth when I used to have a POP3 account for all my emailing this system worked perfectly well... (I know I am going to get replies saying that POP3 and exchange are totally different).

Thank you very much for all your help.

So the BlackBerry says "Service Blocked." Might want to recheck the data plan for the UK SIM card. It doesn't matter where the BES and Exchange Server are located since the only thing you would have is message delay.

The UK Exchange Server is connected to what BES??? BES in the US or a BES in the UK? Which BES are you on??

Hi mischief007. Thanks very much for your reply. My UK chip is has an active data plan with enterprise server activation. There is only one exchange server which is out sourced to 123together in the US. The BES is offered by them. With my 8300 and my US chip it works all over the world. With my 8300 and my UK chip it says service blocked.

To simplify things, what I really want to find out is if blackberry allows a single device to connect to the same exchange server with different sim cards?

any help you have with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again...

It doesn't make any difference, which SIMcard you are using.
The important part is only: SIM card needs to be able to connect to a BES.

Maybe your simcard works only with the VDF BIS?...

Service Blocked can only mean: Your BB tried to access something, but your SIM does not allow it..
hope this helps,
Scr

As Scr_ooge stated, the SIM card doesn't matter as long as it is provisioned for that service. I would have been able to check that if I still worked at RIM.

Probably need to repush the service books, but the obvious question is, "Is your BB unlocked?"

Can you make calls from it with the UK sim?
