Default BlackBerry Pearl Stuck In Endless Reboot

Please Login to Remove!

I just tried to install the IM+ application for my BlackBerry Pearl (verizon) and now it appears to be stuck in an endless loop of attempting to start up, failing, restarting, and then failing to start up. All I did was begin to download the application, then I left for a few minutes. When I came back it was doing the endless reboot. I have tried removing the battery and replacing it, and it still refuses to boot up.

Help?

I'd go through an application reload of the BlackBerry without the battery. Then replace the battery and see if it stays in an endless reboot or if it gives you a 507 error. If it gives you 507, reload the operating system and you should be good to go.

When I try to reinstall the OS, it successfully removes all applications from the phone and says it has installed system software. When it then says that it is waiting for initialization from the phone, the program throws an error saying that it could not initialize. When I try to boot up my phone I now get a 507 error, which I am guessing means no OS on the phone.

Sounds like you'd have to do a clean wipe with the JL commander software found on this forum. Should wipe it and allow you to install your software again.

Alrighty, I was able to get the phone working again and everything has been wiped. How do I make it so I have my email delivered to my phone once again? I already have the BlackBerry Account, but now my phone doesn't have the email folder icons on it to receive mail.

I could use some help here. I have the same problem but I cant get past the reinstalling. Trying to follow the instructions in the link of the 3rd post doesnt seem to work. After I plug it in and insert the battery, it detects my phone for a second or two and then gives up and pushes me to the app installer screen without any options. JL cmdr wont do anything either, it tries to connect and then fails and goes back to the main screen. Any help?

Alrighty the service books thing worked well. Now that my phone has been restored (thanks everyone!), what is a good AIM client that uses data and not SMS and won't nuke my phone!

Hmm, it now seems that my browser isn't working properly since the restart. When I open it, it only wants me to set up my email account. If I press the usual button to enter a web address (the O/P button) nothing happens. If I try to find an option for it in the browser menu I can't find anything.

Any ideas?

I had this, and can't quite remember what I did...try a battery pull first, of course, and see if that helps.

Hey,
That just seems to take me to this screen
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2180/...1cd061e6_o.jpg

for the life of me I cant figure out how I am supposed to reinstall the os from that. FYI, that would normally be filled with all the apps that I have installed on my blackberry. And I do have the OS installed on my computer.

yay! I think I finally got her going. I ended up having to download an old OS (the bell 066 one, previously had sprint 071) and then installed that and it prompted me to downgrade after the first screen. Thanks for the help.

Hard reset first of course but then go into the Applications screen (Options --> Advanced Options --> Applications) and check if you see a browser module in there. You also may need to re-push your service books. You can also check if you have the Browser service books under Options --> Advanced Options --> Service Books.

You should be able to find these options. Haven't touched a BB in a while.
