hello guys
having this wierd warning message on my two BES servers

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BlackBerry Messaging Agent BES01 Agent 1
Event Category: None
Event ID: 20265
Date: 7/16/2007
Time: 8:34:57 AM
User: N/A
Computer: BES01
Description:
{xxx@xxxx.ca} MAPIMailbox::Send(ppMAPIMessage) - SubmitMessage (0x80004005) failed

and this is what i get on my BB device

Desktop email program unable to submit message.

i am running BES 4.1 SP2
Exchange 2003 SP2 on windows 2003 enterprise SP1

this is happening only for few users when we test out, sometime they are all on the same information store but not all users from the information store are effected, some time it does happen that all of them are effected

when i look up on eventid.net and other sources they talk about send as permission change, we havent applied anything on our exchange or BES in recent past and everything was working fine untill few days ago

We had this send as permission problem when we upgraded to BES 4.1 SP2 and i applied hotfix from MS at that time

when i restart dispatcher service on my BES everything goes to normal.

RIM Doc ID : KB04422
BlackBerry Search Results

describes this

Problem
After sending an email message from your BlackBerry smartphone, a red X appears beside the message in the messages list and the Message Status field displays the following error:

Desktop email program was unable to submit message

Note: The Message Status field appears above the To field within the message.

Cause
Summary of Causes

This issue may be caused by the following:

1 The BlackBerry Router on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server has stopped. This cause only applies to BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later.
2 Your mailbox is full.
3 Send As Permissions

I checked and double checked router service is running and restarting router service didnt help a bit, only after i restarted dispatcher service it works

2 mailbox is not full

2 send as permissions are not changed (as far as i know)

Try restarting the entire server (or at least the dispatcher / controller)

That's not a permission error. Permission errors are 0x80070005.

You either need to reload the user or restart the BES. MAPI is throwing a generic error code. It can't talk to Exchange.

Make sure that the BESadmin account is listed under each users security tab with the Sendas permission checed. Stop the Blackberry Router service before doing this and don't restart for 20 minutes. Worked for us.
