Hey guys, been looking at possible upgrades from my 8800, and I'm not sure how much weight i should put into onboard memory. As much as I would love to jump to the 8900,bold, or storm the price is still a bit high and I still have a ways left on my tmobile contract. I have been looking at the pearl flip and the original curve, but aside from more memory they all seem to share the same processor as the 8800. The cameras would be a bonus, but not enough to be a deciding factor. I love my 8800, but i see the hourglass a bit more than i would like even tho i keep things pretty lean. Just wondering your thoughts on how big a difference more onboard memory would make, or anyone who could compare their personal experience of any of the the models. Thanks a ton.
oh sweet, i was thinking it was maybe just more room for apps. the flip has double that of my 8800, while the cuve only 96 i believe. I may have to give the flip a try. Thanks again.
I have had all of the BlackBerry models that you mention and it is more than just memory that makes a difference. Processor, screen, network (Wifi + UMA are extremely important to me) and I rarely if ever get an hourglass. New operating systems also make a different (except for the Storm which I personally don't like). I find it really hard to write in one long sentence with minimal punctuation.
If Tmo had a good network in my region, I would definitely get the new 8900 curve. 512mhz processor (compared to the 8800's 312mhz) and 256mb flash(compared to 8800's 64mb).
Wi-fi is huge, and the processor and onboard memory is great.
My last BB was a Curve, and I was amazed at the difference when I upgraded. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. PLUS the gorgeous screen.
went to the tmobile store so i could try out the 8900 and flip, and pretty much every phone was a fake. =( I was surprised at how small the 8900 model was, it was nice. The flips keypad seems like a huge improvement over the standard pearl keys. I just wonder about the actual flipping, cause the model felt like it was gonna flip right out of my hand lol. Damn tmobile and their fake phones!

Despite comments to the contrary above I doubt that's the case unless you're running with an extremely low amount of device memory.
