woo hoo - I've been having withdrawl symptoms as we haven't had a 9500 OS in weeks! Will install tonight from home as RapidShare is blocked from work. (The link is over on Crackberry.com - hopefully I'm allowed say that much?).

It is awesome...

Radio's good, works faster, there is a new effect on changing apps, opening and closing of apps looks cool, kind of baloon effect, rebooting is very fast, buttons on the phone app are bigger.

I upgraded last night. Have had several crashes already (get a white screen with an error message). Also my today screen isn't working properly. So - not going well. Will try re-installing and if that fails, will have to downgrade.

After re-installing .151, the crashing has stopped, and its seems a bit faster than .142, but not a lot.

However, my Sniperet Today screen no longer works properly - and another one I downloaded has the same problem. Pressing the Blackberry button from the today screen will no longer take you to the screen with all the icons - so you can't open any app that's not on your Today screen - which is a bit of a problem! lol.

Version .151 is not friendly with non-RIM themes. So you have only one chance to use it with its own originale theme.

Talking 151 Impressions

I have been running this for close to a week now. I am suprised that there are so few comments on this thread.

I did the upgrade from version 141 which i was having quite abit of issues with. It was slow to respond, the media player would mute all the time and it leaked memory like a rusty bucket!!

This new version is a whole lot better. Besides the new open/close effects (which are abit jittery anyway) the phone seems to be a whole lot more responsive. Battery life is good, signal strength is great menus are quick to open as is the lock/unlock button.

My favorite thing though is the improvement to the media player. It looks the same but it works so much better!! The volume no longer suddenly mutes, and when you get a call it mutes then gose back to the correct volume. The slider button works much better when scrolling through videos/music tracks which is handy if you come back to a movie that you were watching. And my very favorite thing is that the overall volume when listening to music/videos is much improved!!

So over all after close to a week i can safly say this is indeed the best os so far. Also I have read alot about themes not running, so i kept the default theme for a few days. I was really missing my today screen so i tried the AppleBerry Classic with today and Weather support. It has been working perfectly!!

So in closing get this beta, you wont be dissapointed!

Thanks - very interesting feedback. Where did you get the Appleberry Classic theme?

The FREE version dose not have the today option anymore, you need to pay for it. Bit of a bummer but its a very nice theme IMO.
