Default viigo update question

Please Login to Remove!

hi there,

so i just installed the app store and already have viigo on my berry before the app store was released. does viigo prompt you to update whenever there is an update available?

also, i just went to the viigo website to download the latest version and my berry prompted me to overwrite the previous version of viigo in order to have the latest version... is there anything wrong with replacing the newer version of a program over top of the old one (doing everything on the phone), or is it better to uninstall the program and then download the latest version?

please let me know.

thanks,
ipaqman

Actually @Viigo tweeted today saying that if you were letting the app store manage your install you should delete your existing Viigo install prior to installing an update via the app store.

Agree with this. Just overwrite it.

I have updated via the App store and just let it overwrite. No issues at all.

Also, Viigo has never prompted me that there is an update and to install the new version. I just check periodically for an update and overwrite.

Same problem here with content update problems. I haven't yet had time to really diagnose it, though.

If you reboot your phone you could change that setting in Viigo. It sometimes happens with Weathereye for me.

Wirelessly posted

I understand that Viigo has had "unprecedented demand" lately, no doubt due to their listing in App World. I figure that they'll get it sorted out soon.

I used to have a problem before I updated to the 8900. It was set to never update automatically and when I opened the program it would always update everything. Haven't had any problems with that in the last few weeks. Not sure what version of Viigo I had then, but I have 3.0.892 now.
