Default How is the supply going to be?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm considering a Tour and wondering what thoughts you have about the supply. Any way to find out whether or not they will be plentiful at launch or will they dribble out?

My account has a corporate discount so I can't pre order and I'm wondering about the wait time. Since I'm a preacher standing in line on Sunday morning just isn't going to work for me.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Dave

No idea specifically, but I'm going to walk into the store on Sunday afternoon and plan to leave with a Tour. Check the circulars over the weekend to give you an idea how much VZW is pushing this. Based on what I've seen so far, they are not planning for a lot of demand, and will not get it on launch. I don't expect any store to sell out, frankly.

Ask your account manager to hook you up. They should have access to the phone soon. Never hurts to ask?

Default Supply

For what it is worth, I called my local store and asked them what the inventory was going to be like for the Sunday launch. They went and checked and said that they should have plenty and that being at the store right at 10am shouldn't be necessary. We'll see...

Speaking of which...has anyone seen a model phone at the store locations yet? I know they had the "dummies" in the store for the Storm before release...but didn't know if they had those out yet.

My local verizon store told me they would hold one for me as long as I showed up at 11:00am when that store opened.

Personally I'm going to wait a bit and see if/how many complaints we see here.

Always a good idea. But on this one, I can't wait. Getting one as soon as I can. Hopefully early next week, I'll get a care package from the home office.

I have ordered mine on line and when I get it and if I don't like it I will just return it, but I doubt that would happpen. I bought my current 8830 the day the stores got them and never had any problems from the getco.

You have 30 days if you don't like it.

Is there a restocking fee if you return the new phone?

The only catch with this (though Verizon's policies could have changed since I last looked into this), is that if you are ugrading to the Tour and usuing your "New Every Two" discount, then even if you return the Tour, you still have to upgrade to another device within that 30 days, or else you lose your new every two discount. So, if this is still Verizon's policy, make sure that there is another device youd want if you think you actually might return the Tour.

Not within the 1st 3 days (if bought from a corporate store, authorized agents have their own policies) after 3 days they charge you a $35 restocking fee.

This may be true AFTER 3 days, you can cancel the new contract within the first three days and get your Ne2 credited back to your account after the phone passes inspection. (I was told 7-10 days) I waited 2 months before I used it again, so no problem for me.

Don't forget you can pay a little more. Around 40 to 60 bucks and get a one year contract. That's what I am doing and always have done.

Default VZW Guarantee and Return Policy

Satisfaction Guarantee
You may terminate service for any reason within 30 days of activation. If you purchased equipment from us at a promotional price at the time of activation, you must return that equipment to avoid being assessed a $175 Early Termination Fee. You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within 3 days of activation. You will also be responsible for all applicable usage fees, prorated access charges, taxes, surcharges or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date. A $35 restocking fee will apply if you exchange your device for a different model or color, or if you return your device and within three days purchase another one. If you paid a security deposit, it may take between 30 and 60 days to process the return of your security deposit. The charges for any service used on the account before the service termination date may be applied against your security deposit.

Return and Service Termination

You may return any or all of your merchandise for any reason within 30 days of purchase.

The original customer receipt must accompany all returns.

If you cancel your service after the 30–day period, but prior to the expiration of your minimum term, you will be responsible for the Activation Fee, all applicable usage fees, access charges, taxes, surcharges or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date, including an Early Termination Fee of up to $175.

If you return your merchandise, even by mistake, more than 30 days after your purchase, you will not receive a refund and the merchandise you returned will not be returned to you.

At our discretion, we may decline your return or charge you a fee for a missing item, or for items that we determine are damaged or require service. If you return and we accept your merchandise within the 30–day return period, we will refund your merchandise's purchase price. If you return a phone without a UPC on the box, the amount of the refund will be reduced by the amount of any mail–in rebate that was available for the phone at the time of purchase. Purchases made by cash or check, credit card or gift card will be refunded by check, credit card or gift card, respectively.

If you received your merchandise through a "Buy One, Get One Free" or similar offer, both items must be returned in order to receive a refund. If you received a discount based on the purchase of an item, the return of that item will result in the forfeit of the discount, which may be deducted from any refund amount. For exchanges for the same merchandise make and model, only the item to be exchanged needs to be included. If Verizon Wireless must remove installed equipment from a vehicle or fixed location in order to return or exchange it, you will be charged a service fee.

If Verizon Wireless must remove installed equipment from a vehicle or fixed location in order to return or exchange it, you will be charged a service fee.

Opened software purchased separately may be exchanged only for the exact same item at a Verizon Wireless Communications Store and may not be returned for refund.

Before returning or exchanging any product that has data in its memory, please transfer all files you wish to retain to another file source. Once the product is returned, your files cannot be recovered.

lostman, thank you for the posts. Will you be keeping your Storm? Or are you getting a Tour to replace it? What are you expecting to pay for your Tour?
