I upgraded from an 8830 to the 9630 today (love it!), but I'm stuck on one thing... I can't seem to figure out where to set the number of beeps for each sound component in my active profile. You can designate the number of vibrations for each, but not the number of beeps. I could enter the number of beeps on 4.5 on my 8830.

So did it get removed in later O/S's or am I being thick and just missing where it is now?

Can you set the notifications to Escalate?

That number of rings has been gone from the BlackBerry OS for quite some time.

Because people set varying ringtones of different lengths is the only reason i can guess.

The Storm uses 4.7, does it also have this limitation? If not then it was probably an oversight but that would make you seriously wonder about their quality control.

Escalate is also gone. I believe it to be gone on the Storm too.

Long talk with RIM Support today about profiles. We'll see what happens.

Yes, OS 4.7, whether on a Storm or Tour, will not have the "Number of Beeps" opton. Escalate is also not available in 4.7x.

Am I not able to edit any of the profiles? How do I know what options are selected in each profile? For instance, the Phone Only Profile, I would like to get Calls/SMS/MMS/BBM on it, but not my emails or FB notifications... how can I customize it?

I believe you will have to create a custom profile for that. I did.

yes yes it is gone. but you can always just set a longer tone or to vibrate first. i get so manny messages a day i could not handle more thamn 1 beep sp i am just fine with it.
