Default Is There A Radio Issue with the Storm 2?

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded to a Storm 2 from my trusty 8830 last Saturday and noticed dropped calls. This never happened with the 8830 and I wonder if this is a known issue or if I might have a problem phone. Otherwise I find the Storm 2 to be a usable device with a lot of nice features. It took several days to learn how to hold my fingers to type without a lot of errors.

Verizon Network
v5.0.0.320 software
West side of Houston
I usually see about 3 bars signal strength where on the 8830 it was full strength. Sometimes I see the signal level change. Once I saw no bars when a call dropped.

This doesn't seem to be a widely reported problem with the S2. Maybe you should consider an exchange?

I'm in the same boat as you T, though I went 8830 to 9630 to 9550. Almost every call now drops in my house. I've always had a "bouncy" signal, but never dropped calls. I've run across some other posts here and on some other boards with a few complaints. I'm going to head back to Verizon for a swap to see if it's an issue with this phone, or if the radio is just not as strong on the Storm2. Will advise back.
