Can anyone tell me what kind of box it may have come in? Would a rebate be included in which the UPC was not on the box or cut off? I am getting ready to purchase one from ebay. I asked for the ESN number to check on it, but the sell said there is no UPC on the box. it says BB8530L (which google says from Best Buy) and a Proof of Purchase code 8 43163 05222 2. Any insights. Do I take it?

Most rebates require a proof of purchase, which is the UPC from the box, and a cash register receipt showing the product data and location of purchase and the price.

If you are buying from eBay, why would you expect to be eligible for a rebate? To get a rebate you need to buy from the store offering the rebate, who would then provide the appropriate rebate forms and/or procedures.

Thank you, no I do not think I'm eligible. I wanted to check the ESN number. I figured out the UPC problem. It is a MEID number. Is that unusual for a Verizon Phone? Sorry, I'm just trying to protect myself.

Many VZW phones now use MEID. Call VZW to make sure the MEID is clean and can be activated.
