I am a new BB user and having WIFI issues. The wifi on the phone will just disappear from my screen and will not turn back on unless I do a battery pull. Now just a little backround. Verizon sent me a replacement phone last week bc my first 8530 had the same issue..and now this phone has the same issue. Now my wife's phone which is the same as mine does not have this issue at all.

the verizon rep tonight wants me to delete my apps one by one and see if this fixes it.

my third party apps are: backup asst, Kaglom Free, mets mobile shortcut, my verizon, and pixelated. and my only add on app that might help here is facebook.

now what can cause the wifi to go away and not come back? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a BB data plan activated on THIS device? Did you change the IMEI/ESN and PIN in your BIS account to reflect the new BB?

yes i have a BB Data plan....and what is the IMEI/ESN and PIN????dont know what that is

Either log in to BIS on the Web or go into email settings from your device. There should be a message for you to confirm you changed your device.

oh yes when i got the replacement phone yes it made me do that. but the wifi icon still goes away and wont come back on. verizon says it maybe a APP issue...can that be?

What apps do you have loaded?

Do any sites load?

Have you tried accessing with the BB browser

right now i have thrid party:

Back up asst., kglom Free, Mets mobile shortcut, my verizon, pixelated, and i also have facebook. I can use the browser just fine, its just the wifi

So I can assume that it will not connect to any wifi or is it just your home wifi that it cannot connect with? Does is "see" the wireless router at all?

its any router. It will not even turn on....now when i do a battery pull then it will work for a while then go bye bye again

Maybe get a new one. Don't load any apps at all until you see if the wifi works.

Seems a bit odd that your spouse's will work with your home wifi but not yours.

Have you tried an OS update?

yea they wont give me a new one until i delete the apps one by 1 to see if its that...and yes it is strange...

how do i know which OS i have and if its an updated one?
