Default Bmm 5.0 On 8320 Curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hello! first time posting here!

So i was trying to install the new BBM 5.0 and it seems that it doesnt work on my 8320 Curve with 4.5.0.55 OS. Plus the BBM icon dissapeared first, and then i installed the old BBM and i lost all my contactsxxx8230; why can i do? Itxxx8217;s impossible to still have the new BBM on my phone?

please help, and thanks!
btw my Carrier is Movistar ( Venezuela ) and these are the only OS's available :

Pearl 8100
v4.2.0.64 / v4.5.0.55

Welcome to the forums.

That is a pretty old version of 4.5. You can install other versions of 4.5. They don't need to be released by Movistar.

Follow these steps to upgrade to 4.5.0.162:

And then try installing BBM again, either version 4.5 or 5.0.

Thank you so much, i clicked the link it says (EastAsia + English) i'm guessing lol that it doesnt have the spanish language right? i dont want my phone in english =/

It should have Spanish as well. You will see the options in AppLoader.

Yes, Spanish is included.

The reason the EastAsia is specifically identified is the character sets are very different than latin based characters.

Thank you for the info! i'm downloading this one btw 8320EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel255_PL2.7.0.103_A4.5.0.16 2_Vodafone_Essar_Limited.exe is it ok?, they have another one there.

i'm so frustrated right now, i downloaded the file, the one i mentioned, i did the setup and stuff but i still have the same OS! i really dont get it!

What do you mean by you did the setup? Once you've downloaded and install the OS on your PC, then follow the steps in the link I provided above to install it onto your device.

Sounds like you did not delete the vendor.xml file as mentioned in the FAQ's here.

yeah that was the problem, oh the importance of reading!!! i did not delete the vendor.xml file, but i went to the post you guys linked me at first and saw all the steps, and its working great!
