So you downloaded them to your computer, or to your BlackBerry?

I'm not registered there, but I think the themes are meant to be downloaded directly to your BlackBerry though your browser. Someone correct me if that's not right.

Yes, they are OTA links and need to be downloaded/installed via the Blackberry Browser. Hope that helps.

Why can't you do it? Do you not have a BlackBerry data plan? If not, you are stuck.

yeah i didn't get the data plan. i'm a student and the extra ~360 it was going to be i found it to be not worth it.

then i wont get my themes from them, i've had a tough time finding 4.2's

anyone? i was going to do the 4.5 download but i read in the thread that some people were having problems with it, so i didn't feel like it.

I've used 4.5.0.81, 4.5.0.110, and now 4.5.0.124 without issue. The official AT&T OS is 4.5.0.110.

Go to this thread, 4.5.0.124, and here, BBFAQ, for instructions.
Go here, 4.5.0.110, for the AT&T released OS. Though the newer release, 4.5.0.124, has some improvements that make it more stable and more free space. Either way, the choice is ultimately yours.
Also, following John Clark's guide is recommended to maximize your free space.

Type_X, check in the Media Center forum here because there are themes uploaded there as zip files. In that case, you can download the zip file to your computer, unzip it and install the themes with Desktop Manager. Somewhere here there are instructions for that.

Edit.. here's some instructions.

View Document

You have to have the device OS installed on your PC as well as Desktop Manager.

Add again... this one is better:

You have remember where you unzipped the .alx file to so you can find it when you run the App Loader. Best place is to unzip it to My Documents or the desktop.

i'm going to try the OS update. i'm dl'ing the desktop manager and it's taking forever, so i'll keep going tomorrow and post questions as they come. john clarks guide is good but it's kinda intimidating at the same time from the regular ~7 step process.

ty for the support

Please don't shout.

Nothing appears because you deleted Voice Activated Dialing. Press Alt Right Shift H to get basically the same information.

okay this bring me to my next question, i just wanted to see if i could delete more stuff and i removed the 2 files for push to talk (straight from the clark walkthrough) and i put them in the removed modules folder. i hooked the phone up to the computer and when it loaded and i took the phone out, i still had the ptt icon hidden? i figured it would have been gone?

i'm brand new to this, sorry if this is elementary
