Default OS 5.0 - What To Expect?

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone lay out for me the major differences that one would notice when new OS 5.0 finally gets released?

What can you average everyday user expect to experience when upgrading to the new OS? Is the layout going to look any different? I'm completely in the dark about this....

Edit: NM, found this video... Mods you can delete this thread if you want:

You could try the beta.
But..
New interface
Visual Voicemail
Threaded SMS
Different load up screen
Different application build
Resizing images

There's most, you should look into it.

My .02 regarding 5.0.0.411 :

BBM turns on but erases incoming messages instantly , random restarts , and VVM not working . I know AT&T has to add VVM to my account but after 7-8 calls to them I couldn't get anyone to add it to my account so it was a no-go for me. Like I said , maybe the Beta 5.0 OS works for you and " congrats " but for me it didn't. =)

Default Don't expect much difference

I traded in my 8900 for a 9700.
5.0 is almost NOT different at all. Don't expect much AT ALL.

I got more from the 3G and faster processor of the 9700.

The os...not so different....

If you're a power user there are a ton of useful, small improvements that most people won't notice. Highly recommended. Have had no probs so far, with the last 2 betas...

You dont download an OS from the phone; as it cannot be loaded.

What to expect with 5.0: "Fat" numbers in desktop clock mode, instead of the nice skinny ones of 4.6.

major upgrade in this OS 5.0 is you are able (or just me) to use BBM, YM, MSN, facebook on Wifi ONLY... I hope i'm not the only one.

And the phone profile has 10 levels of sound level now... it used to be just low, medium, loud.. a good upgrade i must say..

Also, FINALLY you can have it ring and vibrate at the same time rather than vibrate - ring - vibrate - ring etc.
