Default Setting up Curve 9360 on UK Virgin Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

Just waiting for my unlock code, but once I've got that, any ideas on how to get things set up? I was wondering if sending "yes" to 789333 would be a good idea?

Cheers!

What would your "yes" be in response to?

You need to call UK Virgin and subscribe to the BlackBerry data plan, that's the first thing to setup, so that you can then proceed to setup email, etc.

Thanks for that. I should explain that this is a replacement SIM from a previous Curve 8520 that was stolen, so I would presume that any subscriptions should already be set up, at least at a commercial level.

Or maybe you're talking about a device subscription thing?

BTW - I don't think the "yes" has to be a response to anything judging from what I've read.

I found the following virginmobile.com / vm / setup3gAndGprs.do ?contentId=setting.up.3g.gprs.howdoi.sm101

---------------------------------

Ensure a suitable BlackBerry data plan is enabled on the account. Depending on the BlackBerry device used the service can be set by one of the following options:

1) On Device

Select BlackBerry menu > Open tray (or Maximise Panel) > All > Options (or Settings then Options) > Device > Advanced System Settings > Host Routing Table.
Scroll to the desired account and select Menu > Register Now.
The handset will display Registration message sent!, press the trackwheel/trackpad to accept.
Press the end call key to return to the home screen.

2) On-line

Go to the relevant BlackBerry Internet Service Portal website for the service provider.
Follow the on-line instructions to send the service books to the device.

3) Access Point only (for some applications)

Select Options (or Settings then Options) > Device > Advanced System Settings > TCP/IP
Ensure the APN Settings Enabled option is selected.
Enter goto.virginmobile.uk as the APN:
Ensure the APN Authentication Enabled option is selected and enter the Username and Password listed below. NOTE: - If the Username and Password fields below are blank, leave this option disabled.
Username for APN: user
Password for APN:
Open the TCP options menu and select Save.
Press the end call key to return to the home screen.

An update on this:
The above didn't work. Method 1 sent a registration message, but nothing came back.
Method 2 I didn't understand!
Method 3 Tried it, but didn't seem to help.

Then I spoke to someone at Virgin, who put the IMEI number onto the account details associated with the SIM card. Fingers crossed that this might fix it.

By the way, sending yes to 789333 was a complete red herring.
