ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM?

I send many text message to my employees. We have 10 nextel handset and I had a nextel 7520. All my text messages are sent to the #@page.nextel.com address. Every text message sent from the 7520 to ANY nextel phone goes through, but has a string of about 30 characters of nonsense first. It's not just my company, but ANY nextel phone. So I thought it might be a problem with my 7520.

I switched to the 8703e w/verizon (not just because of this)
Lo and behold, same exact problem continued happening!

Soooo, I've spend hours on the phone with nextel. Though it's been happening for months, I think I'm the first one to bring this problem to them. After all these hours, I'm certain that this happens when sending a text message from ANY rim device to ANY nextel device, provided you're using the @page.nextel.com address. I thought it could be a RIM issue, but they said that since they can text all other carriers no problem, it must be an issue with the way nextel handles text message at that address, received from RIM only.

Anyone know anything about this?

I could use the Net alert feature, but I never need my guy's to reply to me (in fact, don't want them to) and the text messages feature on the handset is much easier to get and navigate for the technically challenged (see: landscapers)

Text messaging is far from dependable with any carrier, Nextel included

If you have the same problems with sending from a Verizon device that seems to indicate it is a problem on Nextel's end.

I had a i930 and it was a Pain on text messaging. I also have an i870 and messaging txt sometimes shows up 24 hours later. Now I have two 7520's still problems with texting but not at bad. I have been with nextel for over 10 yrs. I remember when they went live with text messging the txt service is still the same :( Just now we can go cross carrier sms

To be honest, I have no complaints about the timing of text messages or not receiving text messages. I suppose my issue is minor relative to those issues.
